It never fails to amaze me that how Colin Dexter as an Author
could get so far into someone's soul and make that character a person
that you may have met or passed in the street they have become so alive in
the imagination.
When he stopped writing the Morse Mysteries I thought my world had ended
and am still searching for an replacement author, who is as perfect.
I collected the whole of the TV series on Video, which featured the unforgettable brilliance of
John Thaw, and when my player packed in I thought that would be the end of
it but to find this series on DVD and at such a great price with Amazon was too
much of a good thing to turn down.
It needs no recommendation it speaks for itself.
Buy it without a doubt as to whether you will enjoy it, you will.

Lovely to have this historic series available whenever we want to look back over them - even finding some ones among them that we had not seen.

We had been intending to purchase the Complete Morse for months, but I was hoping the price would come down or my own funds would unfreeze a bit. The former happened and we are delighted. We haven't watched all the Morse yet -- we do have our favourites and watch them regularly. Thank you, Amazon, once again for providing us with inexpensive entertainment to replace the horrible television we have here in North America.

Having enjoyed all of the episodes I managed to catch when the series first aired on British television I was delighted when I came across this rather excellent collection of every one of the entire series in one DVD presentation set - and at a very affordable cost of only UKPound 33.42!
I've managed to watch the first four episodes, in the order they were originally shown and have to admit - John Thaw was a sorely underestimated character actor. Unlike the Armani-clad sleuths of today's TV series, this was a man with tremendous intellectual strengths combined with very human weaknesses. A man who hated jumping to conclusions, because so often when he did it was his ultimate undoing. A man everyone could identify with - and John Thaw did all so splendidly.
Fabulous value, wonderful entertainment, who on earth can take his place?

While this is an excellent product, you sent a version which was not suitable for the Australian market. The product you sent was for Region 2 ( the European market), whereas it should have been Region 4 (Australia, NZ and the South Pacific). Someone was careless, which is a human frailty. I returned the product, and was given a full refund. I have always found your efficiency to be excellent, and will continue to buy from Amazon UK. Herb.
