After lots of searching on the internet I choose this camera as it looked like it would fit in my pocket and take some great pictures. Apart from coming with a small memory card (easily solved by buying a 4gb one) it really has lived up to my expectations despite falling on it (when it was in my pocket) on my first trek out. so although it is a little dented it has continued to give me hundreds of fantastic photos.

Videos are OK, you can zoom in and out whilst videoing but if you are outside you can get a lot of wind noise as it does not have a dampener for wind.

My final word is to say that I liked it so much that I bought one for my sister and then we bought another one for another sister... and we all love them!
 
Lens broke after 14 months posted on 2010-03-14
I bought this camera for my daughter for her birthday. It was a great camera up until the point the lens failed after 14 months. Unfortunately, the cost of repair exceeds the cost to buy a new one. I will be buying a Nikon this time which comes with a two year warranty as standard, so at least I will get two years out of it. I would recommend everyone looks at this as it is expensive to buy a new camera every year.

Great little camera. Attractive to look at and easy to use. Takes great snaps. Very sturdy, take it in my pocket skiing and know it will take the knocks.

I bought this camera in March 2009 recommended by my daughter who has one, also the reviews were all positive apart from one regarding sand which I read and wish I had taken more notice of. 5 stars for ease of usability,functions and results, size,style and colour. 2 stars for fragility of mechanism. After 5 months the lens started to make a noise retracting.I returned the camera to Canon and received 2 photos taken of inside camera and an estimate for repair. Alleged sand in camera.It has been used with meticulous care and always cased when not in use. The, How to use camera, simple instructions use beach pictures as examples but the small print warrantee say void if sand in camera. The beach on holiday is the one place one would expect to take a camera, of course, taking care not to expose it to severe weather conditions. The quote for repair p&p was £80+ which I will not be taking up and will put towards a new camera should this one fail completely. The camera has been returned to me and it can still be used albeit still making grating noise as lens go in and out. Am told its because it has a floating seal whatever that is and probably how stuff got in. I love the camera and would recommend it but be aware of sand and grit, fluff and dust!

An excellent camera, ideal for those who want a great quality point and shoot. Great battery life & very small, compact and ultra stylish - great for keeping in your bag on a night out! Takes great quality photos and very impressive videos complete with audio. Very easy to use with nice large LCD screen. An amazing buy, highly recommend
