Customer Reviews for Canon EH 18-L Semi-hard Case For EOS 350D & 400D
Hard camera case posted on 2009-11-07
I can see that it protects the camera well but it is very stiff and is a little cumersome to use ( in the way that I use it perhaps) I wonder if a camera bag would be better for me.

Excellent value case - well finished. As it says it is semi hard offering protection for my camera when outwith my camera bag. A wee bit fiddely to remove for use but I think this is more to do with me than the design

Better than what I was expecting posted on 2009-04-29
I wanted a more compact case rather than the bigger gadget bag I had been using and despite some of the reviews on here I went for it. It's a great case - well made, easy to use and protects the camera really well. Yes the lense cover part is not permanantly attached but it does stay attached so long as you are not too rough with it. You do have to remove the camera part of the case if you wish to use the tripod but this takes a matter of seconds to take off and put back on - no great hassle in the scheme of things. It does what it says on the tin - looks smart, keeps the camera protected, and is compact. I am quite hard to please and am more than happy with this case.

Very Good everyday case! posted on 2008-11-03
Just brought this case for my EOS 350D as I wanted a bit more protection.
I already have a nice lowepro case for this camera and you might as well, but if your like me, it's very rarely used. When I go on walks with my family, I normally have to carry a backpack with all our stuff in, and carrying a camera bag as well is just a pain. The old EOS is normally thrown in the backpack, or in the back of the car or over my shoulder! Go on, really, how often do you actually take your camera bag??
This case is great and I'm not sure if some of the other reviews missed the point a bit. Yes you need a 1p peice to screw it on, and yes the screw does appear to be too short and the case too stiff a first, but thats only becuase its new!! Its very easy to fit and I'm sure over time, you'll be able to do it with your fingers as it gives a bit with use. And ok, you have to remove it to change your card and the battery, but how often do you change a batterey, once a week? its hardly a pain. And if your like me and you've got a 4GB card, how often do you change a card!! I tend to shoot masses of JPEG plus RAW and hardly ever take it out, and thats only so I can put it in the card reader!
Also, yes it can be a pain to compose with the front of the case dangling around the lense, but the way i use it, and the way I think was intended to be used, you have the front on when its on the backseat of the car, or in a backpack or just being carried around, but when you want to use the camera, you take the front OFF!! stuff it in a bag or in a coat pocket, put the camera around your neck and take photos! when you've finished you put it back on again and chuck the camera in the car! The bottom of the case feels strong and well built, no it dosn't cover a lot but it cover's enough, like the areas where I've broken my old film EOS's before, the base and the edge's. It also protects the CF card door, another potential weak spot. I've got no problem now throwing it on the floor at a picnic, whilst sitting on a wall or whatever and happy it will protect the camera from breakages.
All in all a good case that doe's what it's supposed to, and much better than walking around with a dead wieght of a camerabag breaking your shoulder!
oh, and lots of room for a good sized ''normal zoom'', but not a big one as said before. I've got a 35-70mm which fits fine, although you need to remove the lens hood first.
I for one, am very pleased with it!

Had this case for a few months now, I stand by what I said earlier, its great. However just figured out why the right had side is kept together with velcro. If you want to take the case off to use the camera (which you should but don't have anywhere to put it. you can thread the case over the left hand side of the neck strap, using the nifty bit of velcro. yeah ok it still gets in the way a bit, but not as much as having it hanging off the bottom.

Good case!! As is the camera its bolted too, shame it's all old hat...
