Digital Camera: Hoya 52mm HMC Haze UV Screw in Filter

I was worried about buying a lens cover as I'd read some bad reviews of them on Amazon but really wanted something to protect my lens. I went for the Hoya cover as the less well-known brands had some really awful reviews. I chose this one instead of the more expensive one as I was on a budget and could do with saving the money - I just hoped that the saving didn't compromise too much on quality! I'm glad I didn't go for the more expensive one as this lens cover seems to be just fine - it does screw on well to the lens but inexplicably has popped off once (I think that may have been my own fault). As long as it continues to stay on most of the time I'll be happy - if it gets scratched it'll be much cheaper to replace than the lens.

Delivery was as promised and it was well packaged and in good condition on arrival. The filter screws onto my Sony a 230 18-55mm lens, and the lens cap still clips on easily. I put it on when it arrived and haven't given it another thought. It should help to keep the lens clean and protect it from knocks, and I have no reason to believe it won't do this. I can't comment on it's effect on pictures, as it has been there since the camera was new, so nothing to compare this to. Very happy with this product and good value for money.

I was not sure if I should go for the more expensive filter, I decided on this one and I am glad I did not spend more, it's a very good filter, works well on my Nikon D90, I don't see any quality loss on the photographs when I am using this filter, to me if the filter is or off the camera the photos are the same quality wise, you don't need to pay more! Bob.

I got this filter to protect a new lens I purchased, Nikon 18-105. The filter screws on easily and the lens cap fits on the filter. I have not seen a difference in my images. Although the days that I have been shooting have not been particularly sunny. For the price its great for protecting my lens.

Very good quality multicoating UV filter. Really serve the purpose especially as the lens protection is great and the price. Just one star off because of my personal issue of without noticing extremely huge different comparing with and without the UV filter. But definitely a good buy as if anyone precious their camera lens, recommended!!
